The Arts

The Arts Program at American Martyrs helps students develop self-confidence and the ability to discover new ways to express their creativity.

The visual arts program allows students to explore concepts through hands-on art activities, encouraging students to use their imagination freely.  The classroom teachers facilitate visual arts instruction in Transitional Kindergarten through 5th grade. A dedicated visual arts teacher instructs students in grades 6 through 8.  American Martyrs School also participates in “Young at Art,” a program in which parent docents teach in-depth art projects to all grades in a variety of mediums, exposing students to different movements, mediums, materials, and techniques.

Two dedicated music teachers develop music theory, appreciation, history, and the use of instruments as the students progress through the grades.  Students play xylophones, rhythmic instruments, recorders, and utilize music software. Church music is also taught in preparation for school Masses.
