Mr. Scott Dixon

Mr. Dixon is in his tenth year supporting the technology of American Martyrs School (AMS). He began as the Technology Teacher for grades 3 - 8, but despite his love of classroom teaching he quickly transitioned into a management role when the previous Technology Director left to followed her dream of technologizing the Sonoma County Library. AMS is fortunate to have a large and diverse array of educational technologies including an Apple-empowered Media Lab with integrated film studio, Chromebook and iPad carts, a fleet of take-home Chromebooks, and touch displays for every teacher. And it all needs WiFi, all the time.

After serving in the Marine Corps as a Data Systems specialist, Mr. Dixon earned his Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Computer Science from Cal State Long Beach, and worked as a teacher, tutor, and software engineer in aerospace before joining the team at AMS.

Mr. Dixon believes that technology is a valuable tool that can empower every field of human endeavor, but also one that must be tempered with humility and humanity. He is looking forward to refreshing the school's technology infrastructure this year to keep things running smoothly despite our ever-growing need for bandwidth, and to roll out new technology to make the school an even safer place for the students to grow and learn.
