I'm Mr. Ron Tanski, the music teacher for the 4th through 8th grades, but most of the kids and faculty just call me "Mr. T."

I've been teaching here at AMS for 19 years. Prior to AMS, I taught at St. Philomena's for 5 years and then 5 more at both schools before joining the AMS family full time.

I received Bachelor Degrees in both Music Fine Arts/Composition Synthesis and Public Relations Communications from Drury University, but spent most of my childhood in backwoods Ohio and Colorado. Go Broncos! I have my Orff certifications, am a Taiko Sensei (those big Japanese drums, think Water Bottles on Palm Sunday!) led the AMS Friday Morning Worship Band for 18 years, team teach the new Music & Video Tech DaVinci with Mr. Robert Anderson, and often serve as a mentor teacher for local new teachers in both public and private school music education programs here in the South Bay. In addition to AMS, I have helped set up thriving music programs at several other schools in the Archdiocese.

Outside of AMS, I am a professional Blues musician whose music is played around the world on the radio. I'm sponsored by Mason & Hamlin Pianos and Earthworks High Definition Microphones, am a voting member of the Recording Academy (The Grammys), teach private piano lessons, and most importantly, love spending time fishing and hiking with my wife, two children and two dogs.
