“The only thing you absolutely need to know is the location of the library.”
- Albert Einstein

I have been the  AMS librarian since 2015 and I look forward to seeing your children each week in our library!

A little bit about me ...

I am the parent of two AMS graduates. I continue to serve on our School Board and previously was on the AMS Vision team.

I have always loved to read. My favorite series and books as a child were the Nancy Drew mystery stories, Laura Ingalls Wilder’s Little House books, The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe and Harriet the Spy.

I love bookstores and libraries — I worked at the largest UCLA library throughout my college years, and our wedding reception was held at the Redondo Beach historical library!

I fondly remember Sister Sandra, who was both my 4th grade and 6th grade teacher, reading aloud to our class every afternoon after lunch. As a parent, I enjoyed reading aloud to my own children (I read all 7 Harry Potter books to my youngest son – great read aloud practice!) and I look forward to sharing books with your children each week.

My goals as the AMS librarian are to create a place where our students can wonder and wander and to meet the reading needs of the emerging reader, the reluctant reader and the voracious reader. Through books and stories, we will discover new characters and learn about historical figures and different parts of our world. Together with the partnership of AMAZING parent volunteers, I hope that the AMS library continues to be a place our students look forward to visiting each week.
