Way of the Cross

Each Holy Week, the Eighth Grade students continue the American Martyrs tradition of dramatizing the Stations of The Cross for Good Friday Services.  "The Way of The Cross" offers American Martyrs School and Parish community a deep and meaningful meditation on our Lord's journey to Golgotha.

Students prepare in earnest during the Lenten season; some serve in roles as "People of the Passion," others as part of the technical crew. Encouraged and guided by their parents, teachers and director, the students engage in spiritual meditation, visit the Adoration Chapel, write in their prayer journals, research their characters, and rehearse the dramatization, all the while entering into a deeper personal relationship with Jesus.

Expressed through reflections, songs, movement, and prayerful meditation led by Monsignor Barry, "The Way of The Cross" remains a beloved and enduring tradition for Eighth Grade students at American Martyrs School and our entire community.
