Music Teacher Ji Yeon Song

Ji Yeon Song has been the lower school music teacher at American Martyrs since 2016. In addition to teaching music, she is also a Da Vinci teacher and an Academic Decathlon Coach. Currently, Mrs. Song is the music teacher at Nativity Catholic School in Torrance and the music director for the children’s parish choir at St. Lawrence Martyrs in Redondo Beach. Previously, she worked as the music teacher at St. John Fisher School in Palos Verdes. For more than twenty years, she has been working with children as a music teacher and music director in public schools, churches, and other organizations.

 

Mrs. Song holds a Master of Music in piano performance and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Boston University. She has also studied music at the Eastman School of Music, San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and she has completed the Orff Level I course.

 

Mrs. Song is passionate about teaching music and she loves working with students to help them recognize their own innate musical abilities. When she is not playing piano or singing, she enjoys hiking, photography, painting, reading, and cooking. She feels blessed to be a music teacher at American Martyrs Catholic School where she is fortunate enough to work with amazingly talented colleagues and she has the opportunity to guide students on the exciting journey of creatively exploring music around the world through listening, performing, improvising, and composing.
