Getting to know Mrs. Schwan
This year marks my 18th year at American Martyrs School and my 33rd year of teaching PE! I was the sole PE teacher for 14 years and also served as the Athletic Director for my first 8 years.
I shared in 9 of 13 boys varsity volleyball CYO championships, as their head coach.
I began coaching the girls Varsity volleyball team in 2014, and after three years of CYO 2nd place finishes, the Lady Mustangs won the CYO championship in the fall of 2017!
Over the years I have been a part of numerous Parish and school activities and also serve as one of the Student Council Moderators.
In the past 5 years, I completed a bachelors degree in Applied Psychology, and am currently in graduate school pursuing a Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and excited to graduate in 2019.
My passion has always been to instill a love for lifelong fitness and overall wellness. My approach to teaching is driven by my faith and an authentic care for the spiritual, physical and emotional health of our students.
I wish you a happy and healthy school year!
