Biography

Welcome!  Kelly Spizman, the 7B faith formation and humanities teacher at American Martyrs School, was born and raised in Kingston, a small city in New York State. From her hometown, she moved to western New York, Binghamton to be specific, for college. There she completed her undergraduate degree and her masters at SUNY Binghamton. The years between her masters and finding a full time job at AMS were spent substitute teaching in both New York and Florida. She is very lucky and blessed to be married to a wonderful, supportive husband, Joshua, a Professor of Finance in the College of Business at Loyola Marymount University. She has spent the last 11 years living and teaching in California. She has spent all of those years teaching at AMS. Since arriving on the west coast, she expanded her family;  first with a dog and then with a daughter and then a son! She is looking forward to a happy, healthy, and challenging school year. Mrs. Spizman works hard to prepare her students for eighth grade, high school and beyond.
