The Arts

The Arts program at American Martyrs School helps students develop self-confidence and the ability to discover new ways to express their creativity.

Two dedicated music teachers develop music theory, appreciation, history, and the use of instruments as the students progress through the grades. Students play xylophones, rhythmic instruments, recorders, and utilize music software. Liturgical music is also taught in preparation for school Masses.

The visual arts program allows students to explore concepts through hands-on art activities, encouraging students to use their imagination freely.  The classroom teachers facilitate visual arts instruction in Pony-5th grade. A dedicated visual arts teacher instructs students in grades 6-8.

AMS also participates in “Young at Art,” a program in which parent docents teach in-depth art projects to all grades in a variety of mediums, exposing students to different movements, mediums, materials, and techniques.
